Build with hempcrete

From first concept to final wall, we help builders and homeowners design, source, and install high-performance hemp-based building materials.

What is hempcrete?

Hempcrete is a bio-composite made from the inner woody core of the hemp stalk (hurd), lime, and water. It is lightweight, breathable, fire-resistant, and carbon-sequestering — an ideal infill material for walls, floors, and roofs.

Unlike concrete, hempcrete does not bear heavy structural loads on its own, but it works beautifully with timber frames and other structural systems to create healthy, energy-efficient envelopes.

Performance benefits

Thermal comfort

High insulation and thermal mass reduce energy use for heating and cooling.

Moisture management

Breathable walls regulate humidity and resist mold without synthetic barriers.

Fire resistance

Hempcrete performs well in fire tests, adding safety and peace of mind.

Carbon sequestration

Hemp captures carbon as it grows; lime continues the process as it cures.

Lightweight

Easier to transport and handle than many traditional masonry materials.

Non-toxic

No harsh chemicals or VOCs — ideal for healthy indoor environments.
