About Ecosystem Consulting

We believe the future of building is rooted in agriculture. Our mission is to help farmers grow profitable, regenerative hemp and help builders turn that crop into healthy, high-performing homes.

Rows of tall hemp plants growing on a regenerative farm under a blue sky

From soil to structure

Ecosystem Consulting was founded on a simple idea: the materials we build with should heal the land, not harm it. Hemp is one of the fastest-growing plants on earth and every part of the stalk is useful.

The inner woody core — called the hurd — is mixed with limestone and water to make hempcrete, a lightweight, breathable, carbon-sequestering building material. The outer bast fibers are used in textiles, composites, and insulation. Even the grain is a valuable food and feed crop.

What we stand for

Regenerative agriculture

We support farming practices that improve soil health, increase biodiversity, and reduce dependence on synthetic inputs.

Transparent supply chains

We connect growers directly with builders and manufacturers so everyone knows where their materials come from.

Healthier buildings

We prioritize non-toxic, breathable materials that create comfortable, durable, and low-carbon spaces.

The cultivation process

Plant

Hemp is seeded densely, grows quickly, and suppresses weeds naturally.

Grow

Deep roots aerate soil and sequester carbon with minimal water or pesticides.

Harvest

Stalks are cut and retted to separate hurd from bast fiber.

Process

Hurd is dried and graded for hempcrete; bast is prepared for fiber markets.
